Access to Higher Education students celebrate their success!

Worcester Sixth Form College Access to Higher Education students celebrated the completion of their course with a presentation ceremony this afternoon. The event was an opportunity to celebrate the students’ achievements and thank both staff and students for their hard work during the year.
Fourteen students completed the year-long Diploma in total with 12 completing the Social Science & Health Diploma and 2 the Medicine and Healthcare Professions Diploma. The successful students have accepted places at a range of universities onto diverse courses including Midwifery, Nursing, Forensic Psychology, Paramedic Science, Biomedical Science, Primary Initial Teacher Education and Child and Adolescent Mental Health. This shows the many options available to students who study an Access to Higher Education Diploma at the College.

The College offers extensive support to adult students wishing to apply to higher education, or to those wishing to gain employment, and the College’s Access course opens the door to a huge variety of opportunities that might otherwise not have been available.

Andrew Russell, Access to HE Co-ordinator, said: “It has been great to see the success of our leaners on the Access to Higher Education Diplomas. They have all shown tenacity and determination throughout the year to achieve these university offers and progress onto such a range of pathways at university. We are very proud of their achievements and we wish them every success for the future.”
