Exchange Trip to Munich
Back in March, immediately prior to lockdown, first and second year German A Level students took part in an exchange trip to Munich. They visited the Albert Einstein Gymnasium school (Einstein himself was a former pupil!) and stayed with German families. Even though their stay was cut short due to the pandemic, the students still managed to attend lessons at the school and go on various sightseeing trips in and around Munich.
It was an invaluable experience which really helped to boost students’ confidence in the language, they have developed new friendships and gained a greater understanding of German culture.
The students said that the exchange was a unique experience and lots of fun. Anton said: “It was a great opportunity to learn about German culture and experience what everyday life in Germany is like”. Max added: “Despite it being a short trip it was a really enjoyable experience. Most importantly I feel more comfortable with my German and now understand that it’s ok to make some mistakes when speaking”
We hope that the German students will be able to visit us in the spring term.
