Fine Art Trip to Cornwall
Fine Art A Level students enjoyed a successful three-day trip to Cornwall last week which it is hoped will become an annual visit.
Students were able to explore seaside towns of St. Ives and Penzance which have inspired many famous artists and also visited The Tate St. Ives, the Sculpture gardens of Barbara Hepworth, the Newlyn Art Gallery and the Exchange in Penzance (where there was an exhibition celebration the recognition of LGBTQIA+ exploring queer culture and various artist work such as Francis Bacon and David Hockney).
The final stop was the Eden Project with opportunities to draw and photograph various scenes from the natural environment.
All in all, the trip was a huge success and the Art department hope to make it an annual recurring event.
Feedback from students was overwhelmingly positive with one commenting that the trip was “a great experience and very beneficial for coursework”.
