Student accepted to prestigious School

Congratulations to second year student James Thatcher who has been accepted onto the prestigious JACT Greek Summer School. James, who was supported in his application by his teacher of Classical Civilisation A Level, Nina Rinke, hopes to study Ancient and Modern History at the University of Oxford after completing his A Levels.

James said: “The summer school seemed like a unique opportunity to get to grips with an entirely new skill in so much depth. Being able to learn about the ancient Greek language will be a brilliant way to compliment the classics course and I am sure it will provide a great opportunity to meet with others passionate about the subject. Applying was an incredibly easy process that is open to all abilities and through the generous bursaries it provides and I am certain that it will compliment my degree course through providing me with the skills to access the ancient world in detail and understanding.”
