Geography and Geology Trip to the University of Birmingham

A mixture of year 1 Geology and Geography students went to the University of Birmingham to visit the Lapworth Museum of Geology, to participate in a seminar on volcanic hazards and listen to a lecture on paleoclimatology with Dr. Dunkley-Jones. This provided students with the opportunity to experience what it might be like to study Earth Sciences at University. A campus tour to end the day also provided them with an insight as to what other services are available to them throughout undergraduate study, i.e., sports teams, societies, Student’s Union, campus accommodation, study spaces etc.
