Maths students inspired by visit to Warwick University
Twenty nine first-year A-Level Maths students visited Warwick University this week for an engaging day of talks on real-world applications of mathematics. Sessions covered a wide range of topics, from the role of maths in fluid dynamics and musical notes to the mechanics of stocks and shares.
Students also explored strategies for winning on “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” and learned how to spot misleading data in the news. The day was both inspiring and insightful, with the added experience of seeing a university campus in action on a regular working day.
