College Winner in National Awards
Worcester Sixth Form College has been announced as a double winner at the Sixth Form College Association (SFCA) Awards Ceremony which was held virtually on 16th June.
In light of the unique challenges presented by the pandemic, the SFCA chose a number of winners for its prestigious awards and both Worcester Sixth Form College and Ed Senior, Principal, were chosen in the COVID and Beyond category. Judges noted how the College had worked tirelessly to instil and promote a sense of community, engaging with and supporting charitable initiatives and providing outstanding communications with a clear focus on prioritising the safety and wellbeing of its staff and students.
Julie Ferman, Senior Leader for Student Wellbeing, was also announced as runner up in the Health and Wellbeing category which acknowledged her efforts in supporting the health and wellbeing of students, particularly in the context of the pandemic. This is a well-deserved recognition of the fantastic efforts of Julie and other staff who dedicate so much time and care to ensuring the wellbeing of the College’s students.
Ed Senior, Principal, said: “I am really pleased that the SFCA Awards have recognised the outstanding work of colleagues at Worcester Sixth Form College in responding the to pandemic. The care, professionalism and courage that they have demonstrated in responding to the most challenging circumstances keeping our students and the wider community safe as they have maintained the fullest education possible is an achievement of which I am proud.”
