T Level Qualification Launch
We are launching our first T (Technical) Level to further enhance our offering of the widest range of A Levels in the county and a range of Applied courses.
The Education and Childcare T Level will be delivered from September 2023 with year 11 students able to submit an application after the first of our Open Events on 21st October. The two-year T Level course has been developed in collaboration with leading employers and businesses so that the content meets the needs of industry and prepares students for work.
The course combines classroom learning and ‘on-the-job’ experience with a minimum of 750 hours spent in an industry placement over the two years giving students the opportunity to experience a real career while continuing with their studies. On completion, the T Level qualification, which is equivalent to three A Levels, enables students to progress onto higher education with a view to entering the teaching profession or alternatively into employment as an early years’ practitioner, educator or technician
Jane Jenkins, Vice Principal with responsibility or the College’s curriculum, said: “The introduction of our first T Level is an exciting addition to our provision. The department’s proven track record of providing industry placements for our students on childcare and health and social care courses, in addition to the expertise and specialisms of our teachers, means I am confident that students will be successful on this new course. The Education and Childcare course will lead the way for our T Level delivery with a Health T Level planned for September 2024.”
