College Tops Achievement Rate Tables

We are delighted to announce that Worcester Sixth Form College was the highest performing sixth form college (and one of the highest institutions overall) for achievement rates in 2019. This important measure of performance shows that our students are well-supported at College, that a very high percentage complete their courses and that they are successful.

The College’s achievement rate of 93.4% is significantly higher than the national average (84.7%) and the sixth form college average (84.2%). The DfE’s National Achievement Rate Tables are designed to provide students and parents with a tool to support selecting the best possible provider for their progression. Being the top sixth form college in the country means that more students complete and pass the qualifications they start with us than at other similar institutions.

Last year the College joined with Hereford Sixth Form College to form the Heart of Mercia Multi-Academy Trust.  The Trust’s Executive Principal, Peter Cooper, enthused: “Worcester Sixth Form College has got some real strengths. Its value added achievement is good and students make pleasing progress.  What makes this latest achievement even more impressive is that unlike some institutions who move students off their roles or where students leave without achieving their qualifications, Worcester Sixth Form College are taking the majority of their students through to eventual success at a high level.  I am delighted for the College and it’s good to know that our partnership is benefitting all our students.”
