WSFC raises money for Sport Relief!
Congratulations to Worcester Sixth Form College’s students and staff who raised a total of £572.15 for Sport Relief.
On Tuesday, 20th March, members of staff and students took to the running track to participate in a ‘Charity Mile’ to raise money, with two members of teaching staff, Dan Boatright and Rachel Alexander, managing to run a fantastic 6 miles for the cause!
Students also organised a cake sale later in the week, selling a delicious selection of cakes during break-time. These two events raised a combine total of £338.15.
Earlier in the month, a group of Business students chose to support Sport Relief when organising a charity event as part of their BTEC course. They managed to raise £117, which the College matched, bringing their total to £234!
The Sport Relief events which took place really showed a sense of the great community atmosphere that is present in College. Ruth Scotson, Assistant Principal, said: “Students and staff get involved in a very wide range of community projects and we are delighted to raise a good sum of money and have some fun as well!”
