WSFC student selected for Sri Lankan Cricket Tour!
Congratulations to Harry Senior, first year student at Worcester Sixth Form College, who was selected to travel to Sri Lanka with Gloucestershire’s U18 cricket team. Harry, who has been part of Gloucestershire’s U17 team last year and the Emerging Player Program, participated in the exciting tour in February.
The tour involved five matches and the opportunity to play on two international grounds in Colombo and Dambulla. It also enabled Harry to visit Mount Lavinia, Galle, a visit to the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy, Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage and Kurugama Tea Factory.
Reflecting on his experience, Harry said: “This was a fantastic opportunity for me to experience a completely different culture and broaden my knowledge and understanding of the world. It also allowed me to experience playing in very different and extreme conditions, and adapt my game under the trial of spin bowling.”
Harry also acknowledged the support of Worcester Sixth Form College’s Support for Excellence Scheme: “Without the College’s support I would not have been able to have this once in a lifetime opportunity, and so I would like to thank the College for their support.”
